Justin Park, a Korean-American R&B and Pop artist based in Los Angeles, has earned international recognition for his soulful sound, with support from artists like BTS, Pink Sweats, and Monsta X. Performing for an enthusiastic crowd at YAR, Park was visibly moved. “I want to thank YAR, first and foremost, for hosting the first-ever Asian festival here in Austin, Texas,” he said. “The crowd was amazing—so many fans came out, and I’m just incredibly thankful.”

Reflecting on how YAR differed from his previous performances, Park highlighted the energy and size of the Austin audience. “I was recently part of a festival in Los Angeles with a large stage, but tonight’s stage was even bigger, and the fans were incredibly engaged. Seeing everyone, especially people from so many backgrounds, singing along with me—it was truly powerful,” he shared.

When asked about his identity as a Korean-American artist, Park opened up about his creative journey. “My ethnicity doesn’t directly impact my music, but being a Korean in America has shaped my experiences. Growing up, it was challenging to connect, but moments like tonight make it worth it,” he said, emphasizing how grateful he is to unite people from diverse backgrounds through music.

KIRE’s unique background as a Taiwanese artist raised in Texas adds depth to his music, as he explains how his identity influences his songwriting. “I grew up listening to hip-hop, K-pop, and Mando-pop. I always incorporate Chinese lyrics in my songs—it’s essential for me to showcase where I come from and represent my heritage authentically,” he said.
